Thomson gears up for next-gen DVD

With Sony pushing its Blu-ray format through PS3 and Microsoft siding with rival HD-DVD for Xbox 360, Thomson’s Technicolor Home Entertainment replication business is now fully up and running.

The company has actually been operational since September last year for HD-DVD and November 2005 for Blu-ray, and has three replication lines with a mastering and testing centre in Camarillo, California to meet early customer requirements.

Technicolor is also offering printing, custom packaging and distribution facilities to support North American retail and plans to add future capacity for both formats to meet project demand in other territories.
