THQ hires Roberts and Stickler

THQ has recruited Adam Roberts and Richard Stickler, who take up new roles in order to help grow the publisher’s business both in the UK and abroad.

Roberts has been hired as sales director for UK and Ireland, which makes him responsible for driving sales activity in these territories and growing THQ’s overall market share.

He has worked in the games industry since 1991 when he joined the ranks at Empire Interactive. He left for the role of UK MD at Vivendi in 2002, and most recently headed up D3P’s European business.

I am very excited to be working with THQ, a fast moving and very successful organisation whose product and people I have known and respected for many years and whose line-up is full of massive product,” said Roberts.

THQ’s SVP of European publishing Rory Donnelly said: We are delighted to welcome Adam to THQ. Having earned recognition throughout the industry as being a great motivator and being renowned for getting the best out of people I am hoping he will help us reach new levels of success with some of the best talent already at THQ.”

Meanwhile, Stickler has been appointed export sales and marketing manager, and will be charged with managing the THQ business within the expanding export territories. He previously worked at Gem Distribution, and is also a trustee for GamesAid.

After five and a half great years in distribution, I am looking forward to the new challenge ahead of me with such a great publisher,” said Stickler. THQ has an exciting future and I cannot wait to be part of the team.”

Managing director of export and European market development Annie Sullivan added: We are delighted to welcome Richard to THQ. With his proven product management track record, we are confident that he will bring a new dimension to our European business.”
