THQ looks to digital market

The digital market is growing at an exponential rate, and THQ has become the latest publisher to announce an increased focus on the sector.

It intends to bring a number of its key brands to services such as Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. It also has its sights set on social networks such as Facebook, on which it intends to release micro-payment based titles.

There are also 15 iPad titles on the cards, the identity of which has not yet been revealed.

Online versions of Company of Heroes and Drogonica have been previously announced, and these are now set to be joined by the freshly revealed WWE Online.

The discussions follow the revelation from Sega last month that its North American office is to become its brand new Digital Division with its focus shifting to merging markets such as the iPhone.
