Publisher THQ has opened an online store on its official website.
The portal sells both boxed console releases and downloadable titles for PC. Note, however, the somewhat pricey postage charges applied to the former. For instance, a copy of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 costs 18.71 but upon ordering British customers face an additional P&P cost of 8.77.
There are other perks, though. Those who pre-order Saints Row the Third will get all future DLC releases for the game for free.
Fortunately it’s a different story on PC where a 40 per cent off offer sees a number of downloadable titles available at decent prices.
War strategy title Company of Heroes costs 5.99, as does Frontlines: Fuels of War and STALKER. Last-gen war title Full Spectrum Warrior costs 4.79 while Darksiders and Metro 2033 cost 11.99.
For an additional 3.73 an Extended Download Service can be added to any digital purchase allowing buyers to download the game as many times as they like for the next two years.
The publisher seems to lack any ambitions of setting up a complete retail and game service to rival the likes of Valve’s Steam and EA’s Origin.
