Tiger Woods already negotiating video games return

The Tiger Woods brand could return to a video game near you sooner than you think.

EA announced earlier this week that it had reached a mutual decision” with Woods to end his run of appearances on the cover of its PGA Tour Golf series.

Now the golfer’s agent Mark Steinberg has confirmed to ESPN that he’s already in negotiations with another company regarding Woods’ video game rights”, adding: "We had an incredible run.

"Outside of [John] Madden, you would be hard pressed to find a sports figure that meant as much to a video game company as Tiger meant to EA. But times are changing and EA had to re-evaluate the partnership, and frankly so did we."

Questions were first asked of EA’s relationship with Tiger back in 2009 when the star was embroiled in a very public media scandal.

EA soon pledged their backing but a year later revealed that Tiger would be forced to share the game-cover spotlight with Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler on Tiger Woods 13.

Again he was reduced to co-star status the following year when Arnold Palmer was given joint-billing.
