It is the first time since Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 that EA’s golfing franchise has reached the top spot.
Last week’s number one, EA’s Medal of Honor: Airborne, slips five places to sixth spot, but the publisher will no doubt be cheered by the success of MySims on Wii and DS, which debuts in second spot.
Nintendo’s Super Paper Mario claims third position, one place ahead of Midway’s next-gen shooter Stranglehold which drops two places to number four. The PS3 release of Colin McRae: Dirt sees Codemasters’ racer climb from number 11 to number eight.
New entries in the chart include Vivendi’s PC RTC World in Conflict in 15th, Sony’s Singstar Rock Ballads at 25 and Sega’s Sonic Rush Adventure, which enters the Top 40 on its second week of release in 26th. In addition, Sony’s PS3 shooter Warhawk debuts in 38th.
