Top 100 Women in Games: Petra Cattanach

Cattanach started in the games industry as the project manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in the creative services group back in 2008.

Her background includes a Master’s in business and publishing and experience in the children’s book and toy industry at companies such as Penguin, BBC and Hasbro.

My roles at SCEE included being part of the leadership team at CSG and later principal project manager working with the VP of European development,” she said.

I moved to Microsoft Studios in 2013. As group business manager across Europe, I worked at strategic level with the leadership team on a number of critical infrastructure projects and processes that delivered business change. I also had the pleasure of working with Danish wunderkind developer Press Play."

She added: I am passionate about the adoption of emerging technologies and developing the business infrastructure to utilise these opportunities in a way that is inclusive, accessible and appealing to the family demographic.

"I am also keen to be involved in promoting the necessary diversity in the industry to meet the needs of this changing audience."

I am most proud of being part of business change within the industry, including being a driver for Women in EMEA at Microsoft. I also had the fantastic opportunity to work on exciting franchises such as Killzone, Resistance, Singstar and Wonderbook at SCEE.”

Her goals for the year ahead is to continue her growth and development within the technology business as well as her work with local charity projects.
