Top Trumps hits consoles

The Top Trumps brand rose to prominence in the 1970s and grossed a total of £18 million in the UK for makers Winning Moves last year. It currently boasts many leading licences including the likes of Star Wars, Harry Potter and Doctor Who and is available in over 10,000 retail outlets in the UK.

Ubisoft’s UK MD Rob Cooper stated: “Top Trumps has wonderful brand heritage and is a mainstay in the toy sector. We’re delighted to team up with Ironstone on this range and are looking forward to strong sales.”

Paul Gouge, MD of licensing company Ironstone Partners added: “Ubisoft are a major success story in the video game market and their track record and experience in this sector are key to maximising the success of our Top Trumps video games.”

In another announcement from Ubisoft, the publisher has announced that a sequel to it's next-gen flight sim, Blazing Angels: Secret Missions, will be released on Xbox 360 and PC this Spring.

The title sees gamers take on an undercover mission to rid the Third Reich of powerful experimental weapons, with the players themselves dabbling with a whole range of experimental craft.
