Total Wipeout coming to Kinect

Weekend light entertainment show Total Wipeout is to get a video game version of Xbox 360 Kinect courtesy of Activision.

Currently announced only for the US, Wipeout in the Zone will sport all the licenses from Endemol’s ABC version of the program including the likenesses of hosts John Anderson, John Henson and Jill Wagner.

"The ABC hit show Wipeout continues to thrill a growing fan base of viewers with hilarious new obstacles," Activision Publishing’s David Oxford said.

"Everyone who watches the show wishes they could try the obstacle course — and now this is their chance. The show is all about absurd movement and well-timed balance, so it’s a perfect fit for a Kinect game."

There’s no word yet on whether the UK show, which is presented by Top Gear’s Richard Hammond, is on the cards. The US version is due out this summer.

Traditionally Endemol has partnered with Koch for its European released, though the Big Brother creator announced the opening of its own games division at the end of last year.
