Turtle Beach acquires distributor Lygo

Lygo International has been bought by headset giant Turtle Beach.

Lygo is already the official UK distributor for Turtle Beach products. Lygo’s HQ is based in Darlington while it also operates a satellite office in Southampton.

Turtle Beach is a major global headphone manufacturer, and has a market share in the US of 51 per cent (January 2012 to August 2012) in terms of revenue. Meanwhile, according to GfK Chart-Track, Turtle Beach is the No.1 gaming headset manufacturer in the UK, with a 50 per cent market share. Turtle Beach also won an MCV Award for Best Peripherals and Accessories Brand this year.

Turtle Beach’s current line-up includes Major League Gaming headsets (Ear Force SEVEN series) and a line of headsets for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Lygo started life an accessories distributor in 1999.
