Ubi dance games shift 10.5m in Q3

Ubisoft’s dance portfolio collectively achieved a global sell-in of 10.5m units in the final quarter of 2010.

Just Dance, Just Dance 2, Michael Jackson: The Experience, Dance on Broadway and US-only title Just Dance Kids were identified as some of the publisher’s key sellers for the three months ended December 31st. 2010 – the third quarter of Ubi’s financial year.

The announcement is the latest in a long string of accomplishments from this particular range. Just Dance 2 has already sold 5m copies worldwide since its release in October, and has yet to drop out of the UK All Formats Top 10.

Its predecessor, Just Dance, was the third best-selling game of 2010 – despite being released way back in October 2009. Just Dance Kids has arrived in the UK this month in the form of Dance Juniors and is already selling well.

Meanwhile, the Wii, DS and PSP versions of Michael Jackson sold 2m units across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East in its first two months. More is expected from the Japanese release, as well as the launch of Xbox 360 and PS3 versions due on April 15th.
