SCi revealed that it had received several approaches last month – and Ubisoft’s name was immediately touted as a possible suitor.
But a spokesperson for the firm told Reuters: “Ubisoft has no intention of making an offer for SCi-Eidos.”
The attention of Fleet Street’s financial rumourmongers will now turn to EA and Warner Bros – which have both also been named as prospective bidders.
The two companies are yet to release any statement on a potential buyout of SCi.
