Ubisoft opens two new European studios

Publisher Ubisoft has announced the opening of two new triple-A development studios is Berlin and Bordeaux.

They will between them create around 100 new jobs within the first year, with both studios assisting in developing new triple-A games for some of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises”. Ubisoft is no stranger to having games developed by a number of different teams spread across different locations.

This means the company now has four French development studios and two in Germany.

The Bordeaux studio will report in to Ubisoft French Studios MD Xavier Poix, with Julien Mayeux named as the local studio manager. It will contribute to a range of titles including Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Just Dance and Steep.

The Berlin outfit reports to Benedikt Grindel, manager of Ubisoft Blue Byte, which oversees titles like The Settlers and Anno, and also collaborated on For Honor.
