UFC Trainer dev: Vita "is a car wreck"

UFC Trainer dev: Vita

The developer behind recent THQ success UFC Trainer on Xbox 360 has dished out an astonishing attack on both Sony’s PlayStation Vita and Nintendo’s 3DS.

"If people aren't willing to pay $249 for a Nintendo 3DS why would they pay $299 for Vita?” Heavy Iron Studio’s Lyle Hall told Games Industry.

"The technology is sweet, I'm a huge fan of mobile technology, but I just don't know there's a market out there anymore for the hardware. I can’t see why you would want to put a device out that only does games.

"The consumer has spoken. We wanted to see that world exist - more players, more opportunities for us, but at the same time people don't want that.

“People don't want to carry more than one thing in their pocket, that’s why Android and iPhone have done so well, they are the devices of choice, they offers multiple functions outside of gaming.”

Fellow Heavy Iron dev Matthew Seymour went one further: "With all due respects to Sony and Vita, it's a car wreck. And how about Xperia Play? I'd love to pull up the numbers on that."

Well he obviously preferes to dance about infront of a camera instead off playing a proper game, that tells you all you need to know about this guy.

He does have a valid point on the price tho, woud help if it was cheaper. At £150 everyone would have a vita.

The xperia play claims are silly tho, just because it has a pad it should sell five times more than any other phone? Its just another option for buyers not a must have. its probably on par with the sales of quite a few other andriod handsets of the same hardware specs.
