UK CHARTS: February 2011

Call of Duty: Black Ops is back at the top this month, toppling January’s best-seller EA’s FIFA 11.

Not that EA has anything to worry about. The firm has ten games in the Top 50 with four in the Top Ten, including Dead Space 2 and the month’s biggest selling new IP, Bulletstorm.

EA’s tally of games is beaten only by NINTENDO, which has 11 games in the Top 50. However, Nintendo doesn’t have a game in the Top Ten.

The best selling new game in the charts is Atari’s Test Drive Unlimited 2. The game has been the biggest launch in the franchise’s 24-year history and has helped NAMCO BANDAI – which handled the product in the UK – leap up the publisher rankings.

Another Japanese firm making a splash in the charts is CAPCOM, with Marvel vs Capcom 3 at No.9. The game almost sold as any copies in its first week as MvC2 did in its entire lifetime.

Also new in the Top Ten is Killzone 3 from SONY, which became the firm’s second No.1 this year when it launched at the end of the month.
