It’s no shock to see Microsoft’s Xbox 360 shooter Halo: Reach shoot straight to the top of the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 this week.
The game now claims the title of biggest ever week one sales performer for Microsoft on Xbox 360.
The game also becomes the UK’s fifth biggest ever UK launch, falling just behind the debut week performance of Modern Warfare 2 on both Xbox 360 on PS3, GTA IV on Xbox 360 or Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on PS2.
Reach bettered the week one performance of Halo 3 by 20,000 units and trounces Halo 3: ODST by an impressive 200,000 units.
Outside the world of Halo, Sony’s PlayStation Move software enjoys a very impressive debut with leading release Sports Champions claiming second place in the listings.
Two other Move titles make the Top 40 – Sony’s Start the Party in 29th and Ubisoft’s Racket Sports in 32nd. EA’s Move compatible Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 also enjoys a 41 per cent week-on-week sales jump.
