UK CHARTS: L.A. Noire holds No.1

Rockstar’s crime solving new IP L.A. Noire holds onto the top spot this week, despite dropping 43 per cent in sales.

It held off competition from Codemasters’ Dirt 3, which had to settle for No.2 on the podium. The racer beat its predecessor’s launch period and sold best on Xbox 360 – which accounted for 67 per cent of the sales.

That mean’s Disney’s LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean had to settle for No.3 this week following a sales drop of 32 per cent, while Brink slips to No.5 with a 52 per cent dip.

But it wasn’t all about sales slides this week, with Wii software increasing in sales – thanks in no small part to a Wii price cut. Zumba Fitness’ sales increased 19 per cent, Wii Sports Resort enjoyed a sales jump of 145 per cent, while Mario Kart Wii saw a 148 per cent rise.

Meanwhile, the big hitters FIFA 11 and Call of Duty: Black Ops also enjoyed a sales rise of 50 per cent and 39 per cent respectively.
