UK journalists join Gamescom 2013 jury

Koelnmesse, organisers of the world’s biggest trade and consumers video games show Gamescom, have named the jury for this year’s Gamescom Awards.

Once again, journalists from around Europe will be judging the best games of the show, by console and by genre.

This year’s jury includes several familiar faces from the UK, including IGN’s Alex Simmons, Wired’s Guy Cocker, Eurogamer’s Martin Robinson and MCV’s own editor-in-chief Michael French.

Koelnmesse says the jury has been selected carefully to house "experts from the national and international games industry". And Michael.

As always, the awards will be announced during the show, which is held in Cologne from August 21st to August 25th.

"Gamescom 2013 offers more premieres than ever before," said project manager TIm Endres. "We are most eager to find out which novelties are going to receive an award this year."
