Trade body UKIE wants members of the games industry to become role models to young people and encourage them to start a career in games.
UKIE has teamed with STEMNET – the organisation that promotes science, tech, engineering and maths to students – to introduce a Video Games Ambassadors scheme. The move follows the recent Livingstone-Hope Skills review.
Game ambassadors will help young people aged between five and 19 study the right subjects in order to pursue a career in games development. For more information check out: www.ukie.org.uk/videogamesambassadors.
