Uncertainties build for Kickstarted Early Access title The Stomping Land

Could The Stomping Land be about to join the list of infamous Kickstarter projects that leave their backers in the lurch?

Kotaku reports that the game, sold as a dinosaur-themed take on DayZ, has been left largely abandoned since it was launched on Steam Early Access on May 30th.

The last official communication from its devs was on June 5th while the game’s official account apologised for the team’s silence on June 17th – and that’s despite a previous pledge to release "an update every week; either a new feature/dinosaur, optimization, bug fixes etc".

Reddtiors have started to raise questions while unsettled comments are also appearing under the game’s Steam listing, as well as on its Steam forum.

The game was successfully Kickstarted in June 2013 to the tune of $114k.

The list of Early Access and Kickstarter projects that have left backers out in the cold currently includes Towns, Earth: Year 2066 and Yogsventure. Steam itself even updated its Early Access T&Cs to warn buyers that they may never receive a final game for their payment.
