Activision's recently teased Tony Hawk project is being developed specifically for mobile platforms, according to Hawk himself.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Hawk revealed the upcoming skateboarding title would be made exclusively for mobile devices.
"We're working on a mobile game now," Hawk said. "We're working on a game for mobile devices this year.”
"We've never gone exclusively in that direction yet so I'm excited because, with the amount of time people are spending on their phones and their tablets playing games, we've never had our own game in that space so I'm excited to provide one finally."
Last week, publisher Activision revealed a new Tony Hawk game was in the works and that “more info is coming soon.” If Hawk's statement is accurate, the title will be the first mobile-only release in the 15-year franchise.
UPDATE: An Activision rep has confirmed Hawk's reveal to Kotaku:
“Activision can confirm there is a Tony Hawk mobile game in development. The gameplay is all about tricks, using swipe maneuvers on the screen, and has the unmistakable look and feel of a Tony Hawk game.”
