Catherine is making advances on the High Street, thanks to publisher Deep Silver’s seductive POS campaign.
The Koch Media publishing label is working closely with retailers to ensure the adult action puzzle game recreates the success it saw in Japan.
The PS3 version debuted at No.1 in that territory.
Catherine is due for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 10th, with the marketing campaign ramping up towards Valentine’s Day.
Central to the campaign will be in-store POS, including posters and gondola ends, as well as Game of the Week deals.
Deep Silver will also be targeting gamers online with email newsletters.
That’s on top of full page ads in anime publications Neo and Impact, plus men’s lifestyle mags Nuts, FHM and Zoo.
UK marketing manager Pete Ballard told MCV: “Using the amazing animation from the game, we have created a fully comprehensive marketing campaign around Valentine’s Day that covers all the key digital and print channel.“Catherine has been very popular due to its unique and quirky gameplay.
“On the back of the title’s success in Japan, with the amazing reviews and accolades it’s received, Catherine continues to generate discussions in print and online from consumers and journalists.”
