US indie games publisher Versus Evil has announced its very first charity streaming event. Dubbed the Versus Evil Charity Clash, streamers will be representing one of four main charities and will go head to head with other players in Tim Conkling's upcoming turn-based strategy game, Antihero.

The event will take place between now and PAX East, which starts on March 10th, and will run over multiple heats in the form of a bracket-style tournament. The resulting finalists will then battle it out for a grand prize donation of $10,000 for their chosen charity.

During each heat, streamers will also be encouraged to raise additional money for their charity, and viewers will be able to buy the Antihero charity shirt relating to each streamer's charity. A portion of each shirt sale will then go directly to that charity. The charity team that raises the most amount of money will also win an Alienware Alpha PC, which will be given away to one lucky winner from their communities.

The main charities benefitting from the event will be Gamechanger Charity, 8-Bit Salute – Operation Supply Drop, Save the Children and St Jude's Play Live.

Founder and general manager of Versus Evil Steve Escalante commented: “We’re hoping that this inaugural Versus Evil Charity Clash will be fun for everyone involved and that we can make this a yearly tradition. We’ve always wanted to give back to a worthwhile cause and now’s the perfect time. We hope the gaming community will come together to support their streamers and help raise money for these important causes.

In Antihero, players must attempt to run a thieves' guild in Victorian England. They'll need to recruit street urchins, hire gangs and steal everything they possibly can in order to succeed, whether it's by bribe, blackmail or assassination.

Antihero is currently in Early Access on Itch.io and will be released on PC and Mac this spring. An Android version is also in the works.
