Australian broadcaster ABC3 has extended the running time of its video game TV show Good Game: Spawn Point (GG:SP) from 15 to 30 minutes after a hugely successful first season.

GG:SP recently held a preview screening for its newly expanded show at the ABC offices in Sydney, boasting some impressive viewer statistics and officially announcing its expansion.

Janet Carr, series producer, says: “GG:SP is achieving a total TV share of 16.2% among children 5-12 years old and its average audience share is up 114% on series one. Series two has been extended due to the enormous response from the audience.”

The debut 30 minute episode featured the show's hosts Steven 'Bajo' O'Donnell and Stephanie 'Hex' Bendixsen delivering extensive audience interaction in the form of emails and stories involving viewers.

The new format comes off the back of the ABC announcing that GG:SP combined with its older sibling program on ABC2 Good Game has reached 1.3 million vodcasts, making it the most downloaded of any ABC TV program this year.
