The developer’s 96 employees were informed of the situation earlier today. 26 staff at Dundee have been made redundant, and 28 at Edinburgh – with the remainder of the staff sent home.
Tom Maclennan and Kenny Craig of Tenon Recovery have been appointed as joint administrators.
“We are carrying out a full assessment of the business and looking to reach agreements that will enable us to complete the work on the games under development,” commented Maclennan. “I am also in discussion with a number of parties interested in the business.”
VIS last year merged with US firm BAM Entertainment and has a number of projects close to completion.
