Vita Slim confirmed for UK launch next week

The new slim PS Vita will launch in the UK in a matter of days, Sony has announced.

This Vita, which was released in Japan last October, will replace the old model when it arrives on Friday February 7th. It carries a slightly lower RRP of 180, although this is of course more than Vita can currently be found at on the High Street. Discounting is likely to drive the price down.

Also announced is an Indie Mega Pack bundle with 10 games including Limbo, Thomas Was Alone and Hotline Miami. A new Invizimals is also on the way on March 28th.

Sony says the new model has been reshaped to fit easier in the hands, has a longer battery life, 1GB of in-built storage and is both lighter and thinner.

The console has also replaced its OLED screen with an LCD display, which critics have been keen to point out is arguably less sharp than that found in the current machine.

PlayStation UK has been promoting Vita as a companion for the PS4, as it allows gamers to stream PS4 content to the small screen. Many titles can also be played on both devices once purchased.
