Warner appoints digital games chief

In another high-profile nod to the growing importance of digital retail in the video games industry, Warner Interactive has appointed Jeff Junge in the newly created role of senior VP of online games and digital games platforms for its digital distribution division.

The former senior VP of business management is charged with driving Warner’s digital growth, Junge was at the head of the recent acquisition of MMO developer Turbine – a studio he will oversee as part of his new role.

He will also take charge of the further integration of owned studio TT Games.

Jeff has orchestrated numerous high profile acquisitions and has a deep understanding of digital platforms and games, which are key priorities for the Studio,” Warner Bros Home Entertainment president Kevin Tsujihara stated.

This newly created position reflects the natural evolution of Jeff’s role in the organisation as we further expand our digital presence in the games space.”
