West, Zampella case begins in May

The date has been set for the trial that will settle Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella lawsuit against Activision.

The case will officially got to court in Los Angeles in May 7th, where the pair will sue its former employer on fraud allegations, according to Gamasutra. The lawsuit was first filed in March 2010, and it was confirmed back in June that the case would go to trial.

The Call of Duty developers claim they were defrauded when Activision fired them before they received substantial royalty payments for Modern Warfare 2.

Zampella and West are seeking financial damages, as well as an annulment of its original contract. This would mean the pair would co-own the Modern Warfare brand with Activision, allowing them to create new entries in the series.

The duo are currently working on an unannounced original IP at their new studio Respawn Entertainment.
