Following a year of stabilisation, publisher THQ has outlined the games that it hopes will drive growth for the company over the next two years.
In the next financial year ending March 31st 2011 the firm will release a brand new addition to the Red Faction franchise. The last game in the series, Red Faction: Guerrilla, has sold a total of 1.3m units, with CEO Brian Farrell telling investors: We did a great job on the game, but an average job on demand creation. We’ve worked on this and you’ll see that when we reveal it at E3.”
In addition, FY2011 will also see the release of new FPS IP Homefront, a new release in the WWE Smackdown vs Raw series and a brand new de Blob title.
Financial year 2012 will bring with it Darksiders 2, Saints Row 3 and Warhammer 40k Space Marine.
In addition, THQ is also working on a Vigil developed Warhammer MMO that’s set to be unveiled at E3 next month. Farrell stated that it foresees between five and seven years of returns from the game, claiming that the game has the highest ranking revenue opportunity” of all of its upcoming titles.
