Wilson wants ‘to re-establish a player-first culture’ at EA

EA CEO Andrew Wilson is celebrating a year in the job, and pledging that its customers will come first in the future.

"I still have a job which is an accomplishment in itself," he joked when asked by Polygon how his first year has gone. Of what his goals are for the time ahead he responded: "The first is to re-establish a player-first culture in the company.

"The focus is on the player and the people enjoying the entertainment you produce. That is the most important thing and I want to get back to that. Every person at EA has to accept responsibility for deepening and nurturing the relationship with the player."

Wilson’s listed his other goal as further shifting the company’s focus onto digital and ensuring that its output remains original, citing the delay to Battlefield: Hardline and claiming that this was to ensure the team had sufficient time to craft a decent stand-alone experience that was free of the problems faced by its predecessor.

"Polish is the absence of things that might detract from a good experience," he added.
