Wiltshire named new Edge editor

Alex Wiltshire has been promoted to editor of Edge magazine.

He joined the team in 2007 as deputy editor, leaving his previous role on monthly design and architecture magazine Icon.

Tony Mott continues as editor-in-chief and takes on additional responsibilities, developing new projects such as an iPad edition.

Meanwhile, Edge’s news writer Nathan Brown has been given a more permanent position as online editor. He has been freelancing for the site since December 2010.

These changes represent the first part of our plan to grow the Edge brand globally,” said Edge publisher Richard Keith. The Edge audience can expect to see a host of changes, improvements and new activity scheduled over the next few months as we reveal how the brand is changing to reflect the new realities of the games industry.”

Wiltshire added: I wanted to work for Edge when I decided I wanted to be a journalist, so getting to edit the magazine is a dream come true. There’s still no games magazine like it and it remains as essential as it’s ever been. As the industry continues its massive growth and development, I have exciting plans to drive the magazine forwards.”

Brown said:?This is an amazing opportunity. I have loved Edge for years, both as a reader and during my time as a freelancer. I am absolutely thrilled to be leading the continued evolution of Edge’s online activity.”
