Xbox Live hits PC and mobiles

Announced personally by Bill Gates at Microsoft’s E3 conference, Live Anywhere will see existing Xbox Live features such as friends lists, gamerpoints and content delivery become available to Windows Vista PC users, and even on the move with Windows Mobile equipped handsets.

Anyone with an Xbox Live gamertag will be able to play with friends across platforms, as well as use voice chat and messaging services.

The firm also reiterated its increased commitment to Games for Windows, and will be releasing a new branding for the initiative.

Upcoming PC games on show included the visually breathtaking Crysis by Far Cry studio Crytek, EA’s Battlefield 2142, Microsoft’s Alan Wake, THQ’s Company of Heroes and Hellgate: London by Namco.
