Xbox One Game DVR limited to Xbox Gold members

The ability to record and upload game footage on Xbox One will only be available to paying subscribers of Xbox Live.

Microsoft has confirmed as much on the official Xbox website.

The Xbox One’s Game DVR tech sees the console constantly record the last five minutes of gameplay and allows users to upload this at 720p and 30fps at any time.

Also locked out from non-subscribers is the much-touted TV-centric OneGuide feature as well as Skype and SmartMatch.
