Zynga settles Mafia Wars lawsuit

FarmVille creators Zynga have settled out of court after being sued by online game developer Digital Chocolate.

The latter claimed Zynga’s popular 2008 Facebook title Mafia Wars infringed on copyright of its own 2004 mobile game of the same name, according to The Recorder.

Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed and neither party has offered comment so far.

Zynga’s Mafia Wars has previously faced litigation issues. In 2009, the company settled a similar copyright infringement suit with Mob Wars creator David Maestri.

The Facebook games giant was also involved in a dispute with the Disney-owned Playdom in November, this time claiming Playdom’s Mobsters infringed on the Mafia Wars trademark.
