Ace Combat 7 to take flight in PlayStation VR

After more than two decades, Bandai Namco’s arcade flight series Ace Combat is headed to new skies.

Ace Combat 7 was revealed on-stage at Sony’s PlayStation Experience, with the platform holder claiming the title will be coming ‘exclusively to PlayStation VR’.

A later press release instead clarified that the title will feature ‘exclusive features developed specifically for PlayStation VR’, suggesting that players will be able to experience the game without the need for the headset.

However, Ace Combat 7 will be platform-exclusive to PS4 – as well as marking the series’ debut on the machine.

A release date was not given, with the title simply confirmed to currently be in development.

The last Ace Combat game to grace the virtual skies was last year’s PS3 exclusive Ace Combat Infinity.
