Barcelona-based developer A Crowd of Monsters has secured €450,000 in funding.
The studio plans to invest the money into developing episodic games, such as its upcoming Xbox One title Blues & Bullets.
The funding round was led by Inveready, Caixa Capital Risc and equity crowdfunding platform The Crowd Angel. Inveready said its investment in the Spanish studio signalled a departure from free-to-play for the venture capitalist firm.
Rafa González, Daniel Candil, Ramón Nafria and Daniel Castellanos, who have previously worked at the likes of Gameloft, Blit Software and Digital Legends, formed a Crowd of Monsters in 2011. The studio has since developed games such as Sugar Kid and Funk of Titans.
