Bethesda Softworks to publish id Software’s Rage

ZeniMax Media has won the rights to publish Rage, the anticipated first-person shooter currently in development at id Software.

The company, which parents both id and Fallout 3 publisher Bethesda, has revealed Electronic Arts will no longer be involved in the sales and marketing surrounding Rage’s release.

Rage will now be published by Bethesda Softworks. ZeniMax was keen to assure id’s followers that the game’s development has been unaffected by the change of publisher.

The game is the newest property to come from veteran developers id Software and will be built on the firm’s newest game engine, id Tech5. The studio claims it represents “an all new take on the first person shooter.”
