Burns to leave Atari next month

MCV can confirm that the current vice president and general manager of European operations at Atari John Burns will step down from his role next month.

A spokesperson told MCV that Burns will be leaving the company in December to pursue interests outside of the company”. Burns, who was previously the senior director of European online publishing at EA, only took the job in April of this year.

The move is the latest in a long line of high-level changes to senior management positions at the company.

In September former Sony Online Entertainment man John Hayase was appointed as senior vice president of product development. In the same month Alexander Chung became the senior director of digital strategy and distribution in North America.

Atari’s new focus on the casual sector is being headed up by Thom Kozik.
