Champion Jockey races to retail

Tecmo Koei may be embracing social games, but it still has an interest in the console space.

The publisher has lifted the lid on its latest Jockey horse racing game. Champion Jockey will arrive this September on Xbox 360 Kinect, PS3 Move and Wii, MCV can reveal.

It’s the spiritual successor to Tecmo Koei’s G1 Jockey Wii 2008 Balance Board-compatible title, which went on to sell over 100,000 units in PAL territories. Older titles in the series were available on PS2.

Tecmo Koei’s VP of sales and marketing Will Curley told MCV: Now all the major consoles feature advanced motion control systems, the target userbase for a Champion Jockey game has exploded.

This will be the ultimate horse racing game.”

Champion Jockey will be playable at the London MCM Expo and E3 this year.
