EA Play announces Create

Looking to follow on from the template laid down by Sony’s LittleBigPlanet, the EA Play label has announced a brand new console title called Create that takes the idea of user-created content and constructs an entire level-based game around it.

Developed by EA Bright Light, Create focuses on the creation of environments via an array of brushes that are presented in an array of level-based challenges. The more the game is explored the greater the more rewards will be unlocked. PS3, 360 PC and Mac owners will be able to share their creations online.

Create uses families’ imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging,” VP and GM at EA Bright Light Harvey Elliott stated. We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination.”

The game also bears more than a little resemblance to Realtime Worlds’ MyWorld, which was announced last week.

Create is due out on Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Pac in November. PlayStation Move support has been confirmed, though there’s no word yet on any potential Kinect support.
