Freeplay 2012 confirmed after a successful festival this weekend

Freeplay 2011, the independent games festival held annual in Melbourne, has drawn to a successful close and plans are afoot for Freeplay 2012.

The festival ran from Wednesday 17th to Sunday 21st August, and played host to hands-on time with various titles, speeches from leading local developers, panel discussions, workshops and even a chiptunes event.

Paul Callaghan, director of Freeplay, told MCV: "’Every year Freeplay grows in scope, attendance, and the scale and engagement of the conversation around games, play, culture, art, education, and development."

"We’re proud to provide a space for all of that to happen, and we’re looking forward to the conversations between now and Freeplay 2012."

Freeplay 2011 saw over 1800 attendees, compared to approximately 1500 at Freeplay 2010.
