Self-proclaimed punk rock developers to use toolset on titles for Sierra and Konami

Frozen Codebase signs multi-title Vicious Engine deal

American developer Frozen Codebase has signed a deal to use the Vicious Engine on multiple upcoming titles.

It recently used the toolset to make Xbox Live Arcade title Elements of Destruction, and will be utilising the engine on all of its three current projects – XBLA game Zombie Wranglers for Sierra Online, Konami’s Fresco Beach for WiiWare, and one unannounced title.

“After the positive experience with the Vicious Engine during the development of our earlier Xbox LIVE title, Elements of Destruction, we decided that it made great sense to use the middleware again for our three upcoming games,” said Ben Geisler, executive producer and president at Frozen Codebase. “So far the production processes for all titles have been smooth thanks to the powerful toolset offered by Vicious Cycle.”

Eric Peterson, president and CEO of Vicious Cycle Software, added: “The creative staff at Frozen Codebase has really showcased the versatility of Vicious Engine through Zombie Wranglers and Fresco Beach. Vicious Engine offers a balance of flexibility and stability that is up to any task, from developing an action-survival comedy to a building simulation.”
