Games Media Awards 2015 Finalists: Editorial Team of the Year (Online)

As we count down to the awards event on Wednesday October 14th, MCV profiles the finalists for this year’s Games Media Awards.

Here we look at the online editorial team of the year category.

PCGamer.com

PCGamer.com provides its nine million monthly visitors with top-class coverage of the world of PC gaming. Readers come back every day for news, insightful criticism, columns, funny diaries, pro gaming coverage and hardware buyer’s guides from our global team of PC gaming experts.

Digital Spy

Digital Spy is one of the biggest entertainment websites in the UK. When not busy blogging the Bake Off or reviewing the latest iPhone, it’s delivering award-winning games coverage to its audience of 15 million users. You can follow on Twitter at @digitalspy and @digitalspygames.

Eurogamer

Eurogamer’s editorial team of 14 reporters, editors and video producers – some of whom are old enough to know better – makes Europe’s biggest independent video games website and two YouTube channels, including the Digital Foundry tech imprint. In the past year we’ve started a big video drive, abandoned review scores, interviewed Miyamoto and played far too much Destiny.

GameSpot

GameSpot is a video gamingwebsite that provides news, reviews, previews, downloads, and other information on certain video games.

IGN UK

If you take the first letters of all the sites that have been nominated for Online Team you get "Pig Derk" which is quite fun to say and also features two of the letters of IGN next to each other. Do the same thing for the Print Team category, however, and you get "Ego Goop". We think that says it all.

Kotaku UK

See games differently. Video game culture, original reporting, opinion and humour.

RockPaperShotgun

Rock, Paper, Shotgun reports on upcoming major releases and independent esoterica, and includes reviews, previews, features and interviews related to PC gaming and the PC gaming industry.
