David Brevik to keynote Unity's September event

Gazillion chief headlines Unite 11

The fifth annual Unite developer conference will host a keynote from distinguished industry executive David Brevik, event organiser Unity has announced.

Brevik today heads up Gazillion Entertainment, the US publisher of Marvel Universe (pictured) – an ambitious MMO built through Unity. He was also the co-creator of the Blizzard-published MMO Diablo.

His Unite keynote will explore game development’s most pivotal shifts over the past decade, Unity said. Social games, free-to-play and digital distribution will each feature in Brevik’s discussion.

Unite 11 runs from September 28th to 30th at the Masonic Center in San Francisco.

"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on the past and future of the video game industry," said Brevik.

"Unity Technologies shares Gazillion Entertainment’s belief that high quality games should also be highly accessible, on any device, anywhere."

The event is also scheduled to feature more than thirty speaker sessions from Unity employees, as well a first-time discussion on the integration of Allegorithmic Substance.

Talks will also focus on console development, beast lightmapping, artificial intelligence, editor scripting and mobile platform optimisations.
The annual Unity Awards is also scheduled for the event.

One day prior to the event, Unity will host its own Flash Day for developers using Adobe’s tech.
