Killzone: Mercenary studio seeking environment artist and graphics programmer

Guerrilla Cambridge recruiting for console project

Job listings for positions at Guerrilla Cambridge suggest the studio could be working on a big console title.

The studio’s most recent release was September’s well-received Vita FPS Killzone: Mercenary, with reports suggesting this project could be a follow-up or expansion to PS4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall, developed by the studio’s bigger brother Guerrilla Games.

The ads on PlayStation’s careers page, spotted by VG247, call for a senior environment artist that has "development experience on recent triple-A console games" and is able to handle "PS3/PS4 quality texturing".

The studio is also seeking a senior graphics programmer. The successful applicant will be working with "an established rendering engine, on a major future project".

It’s unclear whether this project is solely being handled by Guerrilla Cambridge, or whether it’s the studio’s contribution to titles in development at larger studios.

The last console game the team produced independently was PS2 tie-in 24: The Game, but it has contributed significantly to PS3 hits such as Heavenly Sword, Killzone 2 and the WipeOut franchise.
