Former Sulake lead designer Sulka Haro has joined East London digital toy and games company Makielab as CDO.
In taking a position at the outfit established by former Channel 4 Education commissioning editor Alice Taylor, Haro has completed Makielab’s co-founder line-up.
Along with original founder Taylor and Haro, cross-media director and talent scout Jo Roach and former Bitminion employee Luke Petre make up Makielab’s co-founder rostrum as COO and CTO respectively.
According to a written statement from Alice Taylor: "Makielab will take elements from the four founders’ passions and blend them into an exciting new system of play, 3D printed toys, and customisable content."
Makielab’s first release will be a yet to be named dolls and action figures property built around games and customisation tools. Due to go alpha Q4 2011, the product is expected to include 3D printing as a means to offer customers bespoke products that relate in some way to a virtual world through a shared dataset.
