Halo: The Master Chief Collection release date edges forward

Microsoft has ever so slightly brought forward the release date of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One in the UK.

The game had been listed by retailers such as Amazon and GAME for a UK release on November 14th but will now arrive in the UK at the same time it does in the US on November 11th.

Which, incidentally, gives it an extra three days on the shelves before the arrival of Grand Theft Auto V.

For the record, the MCV release schedule has carried the November 11th release date for nearly three months after it was given to us by Microsoft. We just didn’t realise it was different to the then official UK date.

So perhaps this change has been planned for some time? Perhaps it was just a mistake? We’ll never know.

The reality of worldwide sales and retail processes always makes simultaneous launches challenging,” 343 producer Dan Ayoub said. Some fans expressed disappointment in our original planned release date. We heard you loud and clear.

There are still a few countries that will see a slight delay due to public holidays. In Europe, Belgium will release on November 12th and France will release on November 14th as part of their typical Friday release schedule. Our fans in Japan will see a release of November 13th. Given the social aspects of the experience, we were really happy to get it as close to a simultaneous worldwide release as possible so that we can all celebrate on November 11th and start playing together.”
