Versatile digital company Ice Games is looking to open a new studio as the firm moves further into the sphere of game development.
Ice Games has undergone a significant transformation over the past decade. It started out offering cheats and guides, but now develops and publishes its own digital titles on mobile platforms.
The firm told Develop that it’s looking to expand further still, and aims to open up a new studio in Cornwall by the second half of 2010.
Company director Michael Halton said that Cornwall was an ideal region for the studio to be established, with numerous regional initiatives seeking to bolster employment in the area.
Halton claimed he would continue to develop games on various mobile formats such as J2ME, and the studio will also focus on the social games sector.
However, one of Halton’s long-term ambitions is to see the studio work on PSN and XBLA titles.
