Jester Interactive returns with a flurry of new releases

Jester Interactive is set to return to the industry by bringing back a number of its key franchises.

The first game on the comeback trail is TT Superbikes: Real Road Racing Championship for PlayStation 2, which is due for release in May. The game is designed to be the most realistic superbike racing experience available.

But Jester is also planning to bring back other key franchises from its vast portfolio.

I feel very confident in our product line-up; I think we are in a really strong position to move forward,” said head of global marketing Dave Blinston. We have been out of the limelight for a while but that was a strategic decision. We had to take a serious look at all functions: production, finance, distribution and sales and marketing. As a small publisher we needed to streamline and become more flexible, with the ability to make decisions and act on them swiftly.”

One of Jester’s biggest past titles is its Music Generator series of games, and Blinston feels the time is right to bring the franchise up to date.

I think it’s an ideal time for music games and the success of games such as Guitar Hero and SingStar supports that. Also if we look across other markets, ubiquitous products like the iPod and mobile phones, as well as TV shows like X Factor, have all made music on a whole a supremely popular subject matter. I see this as a real opportunity,” added Blinston.

With the platforms available I think the next iteration of Music Generator could be targeted at varied demographic segments.”
