Ubisoft commissioned UK composers to create separate score for blockbuster's online more

Lana Del Ray producers behind Assassin’s Creed IV multiplayer score

Asassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is the first entry in the series to have a unique score for its multiplayer, and it was composed right here in the UK.

The music for the online mode was created by long-running musical talents Alexis Smith and Joe Henson. The pair has an extensive history of composing and producing for the music, film and TV industries, with previous clients that include Lana Del Ray, David Gray, the BBC and Disney.

Smith and Henson have also composed music for video games such as Sesame Street Kinect, LittleBigPlanet Karting and LittleBigPlanet Vita.

In a statement about their work on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the duo said: "Ubisoft wanted a soundtrack that would bring the exotic environments and historical settings to life without being bombastic or overly ‘cinematic’.

"We were able to use our collection of traditional and homemade instruments to create a truly unique sound. Almost everything you hear has been played by us in our Brick Lane studio."
